Milano Scultura - an italian fair for sculpture

Milano Scultura is one of the few art fairs in Europe dedicated to sculpture and installations; the first and only one in Italy for three-dimensional art.

Coming to this fourth edition, the fair is held in Milan at the Fabbrica del Vapore, and is directed by Ilaria Centola and curated by Valerio Dehò. The format is more similar to a biennial rather than to a traditional market-oriented fair. It’s a choice that is strongly public oriented and favours the works of curator Valerio Dehò. His goal is to verify the state-of-the-art of sculpture and foster a debate around its definition.
The fairs will be held from Friday, October 25th to Sunday 28th. We will pay them a visit and can’t wait to give you some insights, to interview the organizers and report about the highlights of this exposition. We invite all the art lovers from our network to join us and come to visit the fair. By the way, the entrance is free!
23 galleries will bring sculptures to the venue, most of these are long time aficionados of Milano Scultura like Casagallery from Bologna or Made4art from Milan.

One innovation of this edition will be a room dedicated for a big land art project, an area devoted to the independent artist Alessandra Aita of Udine, and another dedicated to the more pop-like sarcastic artworks of Marco Bertìn of Artantide.com Gallery (Verona) like the piece “In case of War – Budda II”. There will be also space for figurative works underlining the current common interest about the human body: this Sabina Feroci’s topic in her work “All’attacco”. She is part of Spazio Lavit – an art gallery in Varese.

We expect some innovative formats like the section “Limited” for big scale sculptures and we’re also very curious about “Progetti speciali”. A specific section will be dedicated to artists from the local Art Academy: a generous opportunity to these young artists confronting themselves with more mature colleagues. We’ll give you a final report on all of this after the fair!
