De Ateliers is an international institute for talent development of young visual artists, founded in 1963. Every year, we offer around ten emerging artists a studio for two years in a professional working environment, in which they will receive intense mentorship of prominent colleagues.
During this two year residency, individual studio practice, experiment, research, reflection, exchange and discussion are central. We adhere to the notion that the professional development of beginning artists benefits most from practice. Therefore, participants of De Ateliers have their own private studio, where they can work 24/7, and engage in weekly studio visits with tutor artists. The next round of applications will open around December 2026. You can find more information on the application process here.
Besides our residency, De Ateliers also organizes lecture series and exhibitions that are open to the public. If you would like to stay informed, keep an eye on our agenda and social media, or subscribe to our newsletter.
