Materials and processes in contemporary sculpture
Take a look behind the scenes of contemporary sculpture and visit the places where it is created: the bbk berlin's sculpture workshop and the Sculpture Berlin studio.
We will visit the bbk berlin's sculpture workshop in the former Tresor factory in Berlin Wedding and talk to artist Mabois and the head of the metal workshop, Nicholas Kashian, about the concept, vocabulary, and choreography of her expansive installation âExtensionsâ made of wood and steel.
We continue on foot (8 minutes) to the original Café Pförtner, with internationally inspired dishes and a relaxed atmosphere in the Uferhallen, where we have the opportunity to exchange ideas as part of the Sculpture Network showroom.
Afterwards, we visit the Sculpture Berlin studio, a workshop for the realisation of artists' projects, which is located on the premises of the Uferhallen e.V. cultural location in Wedding. We will talk to Christian Maier and Dominik Bednarek about the techniques and materials of contemporary sculpture, as well as the challenges of realising other artists' ideas.
