Adrasteo

Andromeda Collection

Sculpting an image of self

Both the Andromeda and the Spirit Collections of sculptural work explore the notion of our interior essence. Searching for a trace that might revel our presence or passage, that could draw us in to inspect, consider and appraise.

Exploiting the physicality that sculpture furnishes at its’ core; Adrasteo portrays the human form depicted by a lattice curtain, thus allowing the viewer access to the interior cavity of the artwork, and exposing a spiraling structure of both conceptual and mechanical purpose.

Any significance that may be revealed to the observer is a matter of personal interpretation, yet suggested within this inner sanctum is a veiled path that might guide one into an unresolved or neglected volume within oneself, which may even include an impression of our history and perhaps even that of our ancestors. For those who remain invisible to us today, remain harboured within every cell of our being.
