The etymology of the name Spyros is not clear, but according to some theories it comes from the word “spiris”, which means basket or case, or Latin spiritus meaning "spirit".

This sculpture was originally planned with a 3D printed interior structure, which was printed in wax and cast in Detroit, as I was unable to find someone who would create this structure in Europe. Although, the facilities to build the interior support was available in Europe, I was not able to find a Printer/Foundry who would agree to proceed with the casting.
Upon widening my search, I found a Foundry in Detroit who accomplished this task for me, the interior support structure was cast in steel.

Once the interior structure was received in my studio in Europe I completed the assemblage and later modified the piece.
