This work is named in tribute to Rouhollah Zam, who founded Amad News (Awareness, Struggle, and Democracy), and supported the nationwide 2017 protests in Iran, from exile in Paris.
Amad News featured videos of crowds chanting against President Hassan Rouhani and the Supreme Leader.
The rallies were suppressed, with reports of 25 people killed and 5,000 detained. However, they revived in November 2019, a month after Zam’s abduction by the Iranian Government.
Amnesty International detailed the killing of at least 304 protesters, accused of fanning the protests, Zam was convicted of "corruption on earth"  one of the country's most serious offences and hung on 12 Dec 2020.
