In Norse mythology Freya is one of the principal goddesses, proclaimed as among the most powerful of Northern deities.
She was a well known practitioner of a type of Norse magic known as “Seidr”, which was principally concerned with fate and the capacity to change one’s destiny. It was said that she brought this art to the gods.
Freya is associated with love, fertility, and beauty, and was known for her passion for adventure and her love of material possessions. Her inclination for precarious behaviour established a reputation for scandalous sexual exploits.
