Tauras Kensminas

In his artistic practice, Tauras Kensminas primarily works with abstract sculptural forms and surrealist themes. His ideas often evolve into compositions or installations composed of individual sculptural objects. Using a wide array of creative tools, he seeks to convey through image and form what words cannot express. His works reflect the intuitive premonitions of dreams, visions of a post-apocalyptic world, and a distinctive brutal aesthetic—all of which emerge from experimenting with diverse materials and exploring unexpected ways to use them.

Tauras Kensminas (b. 1991) completed his Bachelor's and Master's studies in sculpture at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. Since 2012, the artist has been actively involved in exhibitions both in Lithuania and abroad (Italy, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland, France, Germany, etc.), also creating sculptures for public spaces. His works are part of the MO Museum, the Noewe Foundation, and private collections in Lithuania and abroad. In 2013 he received The Elena Urbaitytė scholarship by the National Foundation (USA). In 2018, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania granted him the status of an artist, and in 2020, he became a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association.
