Sculpture is, for me, the inspiring confluence
of music, poetry, nature, and life
in material, space, and time.

Thematically, I am always interested in people in their development, in their interaction with other people, in our society. My decision to start a new sculpture is based on the relevance of the question to my life, to our lives, in keeping with the times in which we live.

I don't seek, I find.

I always have a reservoir of themes, poetic lines, and various materials, mostly found objects. I consistently change the material, usually stone or wood, the expression from figurative to abstract, from small miniatures to large installations.

I am always about gaining insight during the artistic process, opening my mind and feelings, even with resistance. Cracks and flaws in the material are integral door openers for my deeper exploration of the theme.

Finding form is an approximation or extension of my inner soul image. In the process, a spiritual transformation takes place within me. In sculpture, I manifest the spiritual in the material.

My technically demanding design of the surface deepens the artistic statement. Songs written by myself and others accompany me in the creative process. The title of the sculpture is almost always a lyrics line.

I am delighted when everything comes together: poetry, the music in my ears, the effect of the sculpture in the room, food for thought as I walk around it, the play of light.

When it bubbles up inside me, the sculpture tells me:
There is no more. There is no less.
It's all in there.
