start will now become the Midsummer Sculpture Festival

Dear Members, Friends and long-time Companions of Sculpture Network,

The current situation has unfortunately forced us to make a very sad decision and cancel the Midsummer Sculpture Festival 2020. Just like you, we have been looking forward to the date for many months and are inconsolable due to having to take this action.

The art and culture industry is being hit hard by the current restrictions. Museums are closed and access to artistic exchange, inspiration and material is more difficult. We are maintaining our confidence and expanding our digital offerings to respond to the demand but we don't know how long the situation will last and we don't know if we will be able or willing to celebrate again on the 20th of June. Because there is one thing that we don't want to do: pretend that nothing has happened.

We are really looking forward to getting back among people, to philosophizing about a great sculpture next to each other, to attending a reading or performance in close proximity, to strolling through fairs and exhibitions. We want to enjoy the sunrise over a sculpture park with you, partying, laughing and discussing into the night. But for this we all need the necessary lightness. And that's why we are already looking forward to the first Midsummer Sculpture Festival 2021. Look forward with us!
