Warm invitation to this special exhibition at the Kunsthalle am Klostersee.
Sculptures by Karl Menzen and works by 35 of his artist friends will be shown in dialogue.
Opening on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM
Introduction: Eckhart Haisch
Exhibition duration: until June 15, 2025
With this exhibition, we want to commemorate our friend and companion Karl Menzen. On April 11, he would have celebrated his 75th birthday. More than four years ago, he passed away unexpectedly in his studio in GroĂźziehten after completing preparations for his final exhibition at the Galerie am Klostersee.
All of the artists participating in the current exhibition at the Kunsthalle were friends with him in various ways; they worked with him, conceived, discussed, and celebrated his work in artist groups, at symposia, in projects, and in exhibitions, and found his friendship enriching.
Now we are showing many of his works alongside those of his fellow artists, bringing his work to life in a special way, a visible echo of an artist's life!
“He wanted to bring something positive.” And he succeeded! Participating artists: Arvidas Alisanka, Claudio d'Ambrosio, Jochen Bentrup, Bernd Bleffert, Steffan Bohnhoff, Pola Brändle, Salvatore Carollo, Eckhart Haisch, Sue Hayward, Johannes Heisig, Volker Henze, Ute Hoffritz, Margret Holz, Clara Joris, Giacarlo Lepore, Bettina Lüdecke, Karen Lüderitz, Elvi Lütgen, Christina Paetsch, Alejandra Rudoff, Susanne Ruoff, Salah Saouli, Bassirou Sarr, Asri Sayrac, Frauke Schmidt-Teilig, Tatjana Schülke, Wojtek Skowron, Matthias Stuchtey, Hartmut Sy, Ona Tav, Ali Umar, Paola Vezzani, Martin Wellmer, Ridi Winarno
