"Take a closer look!" - an art exhibition for the "we" in the foyer of Wiesloch town hall
The wieArt artists' group Rhein-Neckar and other artists are organising a two-week exhibition against discrimination of all kinds. They are setting an example for diversity and tolerance: the focus should not be on sexual orientation, gender, age, skin colour, religion, education or country of origin, but on the individual alone.
When does marginalisation begin, when does the "we" end and the "I" begin?
"Look closely!" is a call to each individual: the line between acceptance and marginalisation is fine and should be observed closely.
We need to reflect on and question our own behaviour and the mechanisms of society: it is often racist, although we do not immediately recognise this.
The exhibition opens on 8 March at 6 pm and offers art in acrylic, collages, photos and sculptures as well as in poetry form - art tours and direct dialogue with the artists.
On Saturday 16 March at 4 pm, Marion Tauschwitz, renowned writer, lecturer, freelance author, GEDOK member and member of the German PEN Centre, will read texts and poems on the subject of anti-racism.
