Fabienne Nicholas

Public art and cultural consultant based in London, with over 30 years experience delivering major commissions, arts and cultural strategies and curatorial programmes around the world. My passion is helping artists realise their ideas in the public sphere - a creative facilitator and producer.

I am an internationally recognised arts and cultural advisor with more than 30 years of experience shaping significant contemporary art programmes across the public and private sectors. I have worked in multiple leadership roles, directing Experimenta Media Arts in Melbourne, building the Contemporary Art Society’s art consultancy from its inception, and as International Curatorial Director for Futurecity. Working across the UK, Europe, US, Middle East and Australia I have led on the delivery of arts and cultural strategies, public art commissions, corporate collections, artist residency programmes and curatorial projects that have cultural relevance, intellectual depth and enduring impact.

My practice is grounded in curatorial acumen, a deep knowledge of contemporary artistic practice, and the ability to translate artistic vision into collections and commissions that are deeply rooted in their context. I have a fundamental belief in the power of art to tell meaningful stories that resonate with people and place and deliver social and community value.

I am a passionate and knowledgeable advocate for the arts, with extensive writing, public speaking and media experience.  My international outlook, curatorial vision and practical approach lead to high quality project outcomes which bring creativity into the public arena, for the benefit of all.
