Kjerringøy Land Art Biennale

Kjerringøy Land Art Biennale (K-Lab),
Kjerringøy Land Art and BarneLabben

K-Lab is an artist-run, international, interdisciplinary, and site-specific platform for land art established by Ane Øverås in 2007.
The Biennale takes place in Nevelsfjord, Kjerringøy in North Norway, above the polar circle, 67°49’ N and 14º 89’ E.

At K-Lab artists are invited to work with land art for more than a week, leading to an opening with a guided tour of art in nature. We invite artists working in various media such as sculpture, painting, dance, performance, sound, text, photography, video, etc. By bringing artists from different disciplines together in a creative community focusing on nature, we discuss the concept of land and eco-art and create a meeting place for artists and the public.
Art is created with, and in, nature. Nothing is to be added, only altered as the work or activity should not contain external materials.

AiR Kjerringøy is the last project we have started. It includes conveying the arts to others, workshops to kids in primary and High school, and at Nord University

BarneLabben works thru the AiR program in new and various ways.
But up to 2019, we had workshops for children in and with nature. We wish to offer children and young people from 5 to 16 years a low-cost, high-quality, and various art experience. The artists from the Biennale get to work with BarneLabben.  They teach different ways of working in and with nature, and the use of hand tools. This collaboration benefits everyone.
