Arts & Culture Management

What does it take to run an arts facility, or organise a large cultural event? Find out what makes this area of the creative industries so unique and interesting on our BA/BSc (Hons) Arts & Cultural Management degree course.

This course, taught at UCA Epsom as part of the Business School for the Creative Industries, captures the effective management of global arts and cultural events and organisations. It deconstructs and critiques the design, development, and management of world-class arts events and venues, and the policies that impact on them.

You’ll develop the creative, commercial, and practical skills to succeed in the serious, fast paced and engaging global arts and culture industry, where you could forge a career in museum and gallery management, arts marketing, venue management, events and festivals organisation, audience development or even publishing.

And while you learn, you’ll enjoy building a wealth of professional connections thanks to our extensive industry links – from the Tate Galleries, Royal Academy and Barbican, to the Science Museum, Wellcome Collection, BFI and Southbank Centre.

Curation

Explore the practical and theoretical frameworks of curation on our MA Curation course, part of the School of Fine Art, Craft and Photography at UCA Canterbury.

This course is open to curators, artists, historians, designers, architects and humanities graduates looking to explore and foster new and innovative approaches to curation at an advanced level. It's based on three principles: engaging community, critical rigour and the development of professional practice.

Through a range of opportunities, projects and partnerships, you will be encouraged to understand and position yourself and your research within the context of professional practice, learning about both local and global curatorial practices.

You'll develop an individual programme of study, based on a personal research project that is underpinned by lectures, seminars, group projects, workshops and live opportunities.

Fine Arts

If you're looking for a Bachelor's or Master's course that offers the complete art school experience, our fine art and digital art degrees are for you.

Whether you're passionate about drawing, painting, sculpture or any medium besides, our courses will give you the chance to experiment with different disciplines and approaches and uncover what really makes you tick as an artist.

They'll also give you the practical skills and entrepreneurial knowledge to succeed in the arts sector. Throughout the courses, we’ll help you to build your confidence and give you opportunities to network, work on community art projects, exhibit your work publicly and discover what your art practice means to you.

We enjoy close connections with both local arts communities and London venues, enabling you to aim high with what you seek to achieve.
