The DalĂ Universe
The DalĂ Universe is a company specializing in Salvador DalĂ, managing one of the largest private collections of DalĂ artworks in the world.
Salvador Dalà was not only a painter, he was a multi-faceted artist in every sense of the word. Undisputed master of Surrealism, he never limited himself to canvas or to two dimensional artworks. Glass-crystal, furniture, jewels and most of all bronze sculptures: his art emanated through every medium.
The organization is headed by Mr Beniamino Levi, an Italian art dealer and collector who worked with DalĂ during the 1960s. Beniamino Levi was fascinated by DalĂ’s ability in using different mediums and dedicated his entire life to collecting DalĂ artworks, focusing on three-dimensional creations. In fact today’s DalĂ Universe artwork collection is a result of years of endeavor by Mr Levi, who began collecting DalĂ when he opened Galleria Levi in Milan in 1955. Beniamino Levi is not only a world recognized expert on Salvador DalĂ and Modern Art, he was there when it all happened.
The Dalà Universe Collection features the largest grouping of Salvador Dalà bronze sculptures, surrealist furniture, gold objects, glass sculpture, hand signed graphics, gouaches and many other artworks. Passionately assembled over the past 40 years, this unique collection speaks for itself: it is one of the world’s most significant collections of Dalà sculpture and three dimensional artworks.
Artworks from the collection have toured and be loaned to over one hundred prestigious museums and locations worldwide, and have been seen by more than twelve million visitors. This extraordinary collection brings to light a previously unknown aspect of DalĂ’s work, allowing sculpture to take on an important role.
The DalĂ Universe also owns valuable copyrights to DalĂ images and is the editor of 29 Salvador DalĂ bronze sculptures which are amongst the most famous iconographic images created by DalĂ during his lifetime.
The Dalà Universe flagship exhibition space is located in the heart of Montmartre, Paris. Dalà Paris is the only permanent exhibition in Paris entirely dedicated to Dalà where visitors are able to discover part of the Dalà Universe collection.
