The Scuola di Scultura in Morcote

New Edition (from 21 March 2026)

In 2026, the Scuola di Scultura will present a new exhibition in the Vetrina sotto i portici.

Under the arcades, figurative works will be shown by:

– Giorgio Mondia – Mandela spacca l'ultima pietra
– Carole Manser – La promessa
– Sandra Veit – Asterisk*
– Ursula Waltz – Achill

The works explore different approaches to the human figure – powerful, poetic, fragmentary or complete. Within the open architecture of Piazza Granda, they enter into dialogue with the public space and the light of Lake Lugano.

Followed by an apéro at Bar Gandalf.

The exhibition is freely accessible to the public at all times.

Since February 2021, Piazza Granda has provided the Scuola di Scultura with an attractive platform along the promenade of Lake Lugano. The changing presentations make the artistic work of the school visible beyond Peccia.

Founded in 1984 in the heart of the Ticino Alps, the Scuola di Scultura in Peccia offers a professional environment shaped by the powerful natural landscape of the upper Maggia Valley. With its wide range of courses, the school enables participants to explore marble and other sculptural materials in depth.
