Le Radeau de la Meduse

Le Radeau de la Meduse' depicts how quickly and thoroughly people become feral and lose their civilization in their fight for life and death.
At the same time it is a monument to all the nameless people who died at sea and the immense misery of the boat refugees.

Two paintings from the 19th century are my sources of inspiration: 'Le radeau de la Méduse' by Théodore Géricault, which depicts the sinking of the frigate Méduse and 'La Liberté guidant le peuple' by Eugène Delacroix that shows the July revolution in France.
