RICHARD LONG – SATELLITES

A project by Konrad Fischer Galerie.

On the occasion of Richard Long's 80th birthday, we are delighted that his sculptures and wall works will be on view in numerous institutions in the Rhineland and beyond from the end of May as part of the exhibition
RICHARD LONG – SATELLITES.

In September 1968, the Konrad Fischer Galerie, then located at Neubrückstraße 12 in Düsseldorf, opened Richard Long's first international solo exhibition with the work “Sculpture at Konrad Fischer Düsseldorf”. There, Richard Long presented 1.318 wooden sticks, collected on the
River Avon, which he installed on the gallery floor to fill the entire room.
The artist's connection with the Rhineland has strengthened over the last few decades. Today, his works are a permanently part of numerous institutions in the region. The work he created in 1968 is now part of the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen.
