Dietrich Heller
Heller's basic theme is the spatial depth of the sculpture. By tilting the stone slightly towards the front and placing a vanishing point on the front plane, the solid material is given a kind of "zoom effect". With the usual central perspective, the imaginary vanishing lines run towards a point in the background. In Heller's sculptures it is the other way round: he creates tension, force and feigns movement.
