CHRISTO ET JEANNE CLAUDE PARIS !

The exhibition looks back on Jeanne-Claude and Christo’s early years in Paris and will coincide with Christo's latest project: “L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped (Project for Paris, Place de l’Étoile-Charles de Gaulle).”

This major exhibition devoted to Christo and Jeanne Claude, retraces their Parisian period, between 1958 and 1964, as well as the history of Le Pont-Neuf empaqueté, a project for Paris, 1975-1985. The seven years spent in Paris (1958-1964) are essential in the evolution of Christo's work. He freed himself from the surface of the painting, appropriated and packaged everyday objects, carried out public actions: it was in Paris that he gave a monumental dimension to his works by designing various projects for the City of Light.
