Capsule 11: Sung Tieu. Zugzwang

Entitled Zugzwang this immersive sound and sculptural installation investigates the psychological power dynamics of administrative law and the politics of its subsequent design. Tieu’s installation critically interrogates the aesthetics and acoustics that demarcate modern forms of bureaucratic circulation and regulation. Comprising sound, text prints, sculptures, drawings, mementos and objets trouvés, the new body of work constitutes a way of thinking through the artist’s changing political and social surroundings.
