Iza Tarasewicz: Once Information Has Passed Into Protein

In her playful and creatively intelligent work, the Polish artist Iza Tarasewicz contemplates scientific statements and reflects on how knowledge and information are transferred.

The title of the dominating installation Once Information Has Passed into Protein nods to a central statement within molecular biology of the 20th century. For the installation, Iza Tarasewicz used a modular hexagonal structure, based on chemical compounds with a three-dimensional diagram of a DNA sequence at its core. Her pieces combine technical materials with organic substances to create mysterious beauty, allowing these seemingly dichotomous poles to communicate directly.
