CARSTEN NICOLAI: „ROTA“

rota is an oversized “dream machine”, an instrument whose light impulses affect our emotional world directly: a large, smoothly polished stainless steel cylinder rotates around its own axis. The perforations in its surface create white, stroboscopic, flickering light reflexes that radiate into the outside space, connecting the museum and the public urban space to form an artistic test laboratory.
