How to curate sculpture in the mountains or the city
ARTZUID, Amsterdam NL and SMACH., South Tyrol IT
Why create a sculpture trail?
How do the sculptures interact with the environment and people?
Â
In 2008, our member Cintha van Heeswijck started the Sculpture Biennial ARTZUID, transforming Berlages urban design in Amsterdam South (The Netherlands) in a meeting place with 70 monumental sculptures as conversation pieces. This internationally reknowned sculpture exhibition draws 375.000 visitors and over 100 schools.
Â
In 2012, our members Michael Moling, Katy Moling and Gustav Willeit initiated SMACH., a Sculpture Biennial in Val Badia, South Tyrol (Italy), culminating in a permanent sculpture park.
Monumental sculptures highlight the impressive Dolomites mountains, inviting people to enjoy art and nature.
