Studio visit with Werner Sauer and Susanne Andreae
Last summer I received the news that my longtime fellow student and sculptor Werner Sauer had passed away.
Born in Aschaffenburg in 1955, he studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Darmstadt and an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor (1981 -1984). Afterwards he studied free art in Hannover (1985 - 1991).
Since then, Werner Sauer lived and worked together with his wife, Susanne Andreae, in Redderse near Hanover. Besides photography, drawing and sculptural studies in terracotta, he has been working mainly with natural stone.
Together with the painter Susanne Andreae I would like to introduce the work of Werner Sauer to you.
