BODY of LIGHT FRACTAL

BODY of LIGHT FRACTAL explores the body as a mutable space between material presence and immaterial light. The transparent female torso, cast from a shop-window mannequin, references an object traditionally associated with standardised representations of the human body. Transformed through a surface of fragmented dichroic film, this familiar form gradually loses its physical certainty. The body becomes translucent, reflective and continuously changing. The geometric fragments - triangles and trapezoids - interact with the surrounding light to produce shifting colour spectra, reflections and projections. With every change of viewpoint, the torso appears differently: fragmented, transparent, multiplied or almost immaterial. Its contours dissolve, its volume seems to shift, and the seemingly defined body becomes an open field of perception. Placed on a mirrored plinth, the sculpture extends beyond its physical boundaries. The reflections create an additional, almost illusory space beneath and around the torso, encouraging the viewer to move around the work and experience its transformation from different perspectives. The reflected body becomes part of an ever-changing visual constellation. At the centre of the work is a transformation from body to light. The transparent torso provides the physical structure, while the dichroic surface continuously redefines it through colour, reflection and refraction. Light becomes the active force that fragments, dissolves and reconstructs the figure. BODY of LIGHT FRACTAL ultimately presents the body not as a fixed entity, but as an open and evolving phenomenon, suspended between presence and dissolution, materiality and light.
