Flexible Family

This larger version of  my "Flexible Family" was made in Fiberglass with copper-resin coating and was light enough for children to move the mother and stand her on her head - designed for her to balance in 3 different ways, allowing the cild to sit on her back or crawl under the father.

I was very interested to make sculptures that can be interacted and played with.

A heavier version was comissioned by Bushi Park (London) but had to be anchored which made it lose in my opinion the ideaof flexibility which was most important for me in this period. In the film made by Anthony Edels in 2011 you can see a version whre the "Father" is suspended on long pole, holding the mother aloft and she holds the baby - my dream of interdependence with freedom.
