The Transforming Light through a Veil of Tears installation, is situated in Bethlehem, within an ancient building just off Manger Square and within sight of the Church of the Nativity.
This commissioned sight-specific work, was inspired by the theme of baptism and the healing, cleansing qualities of water. I paired this with the Biblical concept of the âTears of Maryâ, a reminder of womens pain in childbirth and the grief of witnessing her sonâs death.
Her tears are echoed in the areaâs pain and suffering today.
Through tears can come relief, forgiveness, reconciliation with the past and the hope of new beginnings for the future.
