„Erde, ist es nicht das, was du willst, unsichtbar
in uns erstehen? – Ist dein Traum nicht,
einmal unsichtbar zu sein? – Erde! Unsichtbar!
Was, wenn Verwandlung nicht, ist dein drängender Auftrag?“
— Duineser Elegien, Rainer Maria Rilke
Artistic dance is painting in the air.
Ephemeral.
A body sculpture in motion, shaped by the movement parameters of energy, space, and time.
These same parameters of artistic dance form the foundation of my sculptural work.
My material is marble from various countries. I am continually fascinated by the beauty of marble as a shimmering natural stone: its individual nuances of colour, its vivid veining, and its translucency.
At the centre of my work is the search for the aesthetics, breath, and vitality of surfaces, edges, and incisions.
As a dance and performance artist, creating timeless, artistically enduring sculptures is a passion. Both fields of my work are rooted in a meaningful vision that fulfils me.
Whether in danced movement or carved in stone, I am interested in polar energetic directions in space and qualities of movement: powerful – delicate, oscillating – still, centred towards the core – directed outwards, flowing inward – striving upward.
