Gisela von Bruchhausen (born 1940 in Berlin; died 22 December 2025 in the same city) was a visual artist.
Gisela von Buchhausen studied sculpture at the University of the Arts Berlin from 1978 to 1984 under Phillip King, David Evison and Robert Kudielka. In 1982, she was a founding member of the ODIOUS group (along with Klaus Duschat, Klaus H. Hartmann, Hartmut Stielow, David Lee Thompson, and Gustav Reinhardt, among others). For many years, the group ran a shared studio. The members exhibited together or individually. In 1984, she became a master student of David Evison. In 1987, she was an assistant to Anthony Caro in the Stahl '87 workshop at the Bildhauerwerkstatt Berlin. From 1989 to 1990, she taught at the Berlin University of the Arts. Von Bruchhausen has been a member of the Deutscher KĂĽnstlerbund (German Artists' Association) since 1991. In the summer of 2008, she took up a guest lectureship in Hangzhou (China).
Von Bruchhausen lived and worked in Berlin and Damsdorf (Lehnin). She created sculptures, reliefs and collages. Her works are characterised by their abstract forms and connections with curved, matt-lacquered steel plates and steel rods. They develop a strong spatial effect.
