Ground bound is part of a film and text installation exploring my struggle during the transition from aerial performer to ground based artist.
I choose to wear no costume to illustrate emotional vulnerability and to emphasise the contrast between the colourful performance costumes of my aerial career and this raw emotional piece.Â
The figure crouches, suffering and isolated in the corner. The broken glass across the back lit from the inside to accentuate the pain of injuries and loss.
The Ground Bound film is projected on the wall in the installation. It is an experimental piece of performance in which I shadow my previous aerial career by using a diagonal piece of equipment. The translucent and shadow figures are superimposed to express the fragmented emotions of the piece. The rawness of the sound of the violin builds and grates to enhance my struggle.Â
