CAMPGONON

Installation: CampGonon (1993-2000)

Starting out in 1993 it took seven years to complete the ever-evolving project called „CampGonon“. CampGonon, an amalgamation of fundamental symmetries, is to be realized as a monumental outdoor sculpture, which will be molted in a steel construction. Scaled to size according tot he site it will be devised for manufacturing. Possibly it requires production at a dockyard or hanger. A model of CampGonon, though, has already been turned into reality. Devised at my studio it was modelled out of platinized copper and brass measuring 1,80m in height, 3,50m in width and 1,10m in length.

„CampGonon“, a term cross-referring audience to Ancient Greek geometries of semicircle and equilateral triangle, reflects on the sculpture’s function to convey the cosmic dimensions of site it will eventually be customized for.
