Hamid Taherypour (born 1967, Amol, Iran) is an Iranian visual artist based in Tehran. He spent his school years, through high school, in Germany. His first serious training in art came through traditional carpet design, where he studied composition, rhythm, proportion and color under established masters. That discipline later shaped a long business career spanning the carpet industry, insurance, construction and hospitality, as founder and owner of the diversified group Oxin Holding.

He holds two doctorates in Economics, from Tarbiat Modares University and Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch. His research examines how materiality, cultural capital and artist identity shape value in contemporary art markets.

Since 2020, art has become the center of his practice. He has created more than one hundred works in bronze, wood, plaster, fabric and papier-mâché, built around tension and balance, weight and lightness, light and shadow. His work has been exhibited in Tehran, Dubai, Muscat, Istanbul and Madrid.

In 2026, two light works by Hamid Taherypour were recognised at the D'Light Lighting Design Award, in the Art and Installation Light category: Residual Sun (Gold) and Loveorbitolight (Bronze).
