Threading Time - Weaving Light

Two installations in glass and thread, exploring light and time.

Two installations exploring light, thread, and time.

Weaving Light — A thread of light woven into crystal glass, interlaced with textile thread that extends around the viewer. Light reflects, refracts, and transmits differently on every surface, most singularly on hand-blown glass — no two Murano spools alike. The loom here is imaginary: it weaves together light, time, and the viewer's perception. The resulting "cloth" isn't fixed to a surface — it's suspended, shifting with every angle and position.

A Millisecond of Light — Light travels 300km in one millisecond — the Rome–Florence distance. That same 300km of thread was hand-woven, over weeks, into eight yellow Murano glass spheres and eight yarn spheres. Glass bends and returns light, transformed; yarn holds no light — only time.
