Jean Dubuffet et la Tour aux figures: Une aventure monumentale

Curator: Déborah Lehot-Couette et Charlotte Guinois

Forty years ago, in 1985, Jean Dubuffet chose the location for his highest sculpture, the Tour aux figures (Tower of figures). It will be on the ĂŽle Saint-Germain (Saint-Germain Island), in the city of Issy-les-Moulineaux, near Paris. To mark the anniversary of the chosen location, the French Museum of the Playing Card in Issy-les-Moulineaux is dedicating an exceptional exhibition to the Tour aux figures, from 3 December 2025 to 28 June 2026. Made in partnership with the Dubuffet Foundation, the exhibition retraces the history and construction of this monumental work with a wide selection of sculptures, drawings, paintings and a large number of archive documents, some of which have never been seen before.
