ANSELM KIEFER
In its autumn exhibition, Kunsthalle Mannheim shows Kiefer’s works from the collection of Hans Grothe, who died in May 2019. The exhibition focuses on three key phases in the artist’s life. The large-scale multidimensional paintings and sculptures shown include early works such as Large Load (1981/1996), which incorporates lead objects; the installation Palm Sunday (2007), in the middle of which is an actual palm tree; and the immersive sculpture The Lost Letter (2011–17).Â
