Relaxing Chaos Leaves rustling in the wind, clouds floating across the sky, waves rolling up and down. Evolution developed the human mind and eye to notice constant change in nature. The constant movement- unpredictable in its details and ‘chaotic’ in the most beautiful sense- is apparently good for the soul. Why else would a fireplace fire or an aquarium have such a relaxing effect? My kinetic sculptures also follow the principle of chaotic movement.

You pass on energy.
Solar Mobile, EcoArt; During the night it sleeps. When the sun rises it comes alive. During the day it’s dynamic and when the sun stets it goes to sleep. You pass on energy. For the future generation, literally as Alliander an energy network company, as inspiration and to future generations. 135 of these mini-solar sculptures generate electricity themselves and convert it into motion. They float unpredictably in the air in the new Alliander building. This kinetic mobile is 13 meters high and has a diameter of 9 meters. In the morning it slowly comes to life, during the day it is lively and when the sun sets it slowly comes to rest. It is like a musical instrument that is played by the sun.

Solar Mobiles are Mobiles that move by itself on solar energy. It’s a kind of moving chandelier. At night it sleeps. In the morning when the sun rises it comes alive. During the day it’s alive, it’s swinging and when the sun sets it’s getting quit and goes to sleep. It’s an instrument that is bin played by the sun. When it moves it’s a kind of organism you can feel the rhythm of Nature, the rhythm of the day and the rhythm of the seasons. I always aim for non-predictable movements. You can watch it, it’s never boring. A moving sculpture influences the atmosphere in a room in a positive way. Solar Mobiles are Mobiles that move by itself on solar energy. Groninger Museum- Bibber Bos
BAMBOE BIBBER BOS I have set up a room in the Groninger Museum on the occasion of the Kinder Biennale with several thousand bamboo sticks criss-crossed together. There is a labyrinth through this stick forest that you can wander through. There are also vibrating sticks in the forest. These will vibrate as soon as you touch them. It will be a real experience to wander through the forest. Light and shadow, vibrating sound and silence, alternate. The deeper you go into the forest, the more intense the vibration track will be and the more intense the experience and the amazement. The Kinder Biennale is about experience and wonder. If you come into a strange, unusual environment you can be surprised. Your senses are stimulated and you are challenged to interaction, participation. I have tried to create a 'fairytale' environment with bamboo sticks that is alienating and stimulating. I also hope that the installation itself will challenge and make you curious and that children and adults will go on a journey of discovery themselves.
