Call for Submissions: Art Exhibition “La Vie en Rose”
Overview
The exhibition “La Vie en Rose” invites artists to create a counterpoint to current political and societal challenges by celebrating the lightness, beauty, and poetry of life. Inspired by the symbolic power of the color pink and the rose, the theme offers a platform for creative interpretations that capture moments of joy, longing, and vitality. As an artistic dialogue between Germany and France, the exhibition will be presented in Wiesloch (Germany) and Fontenay-aux-Roses (France), fostering the spirit of Franco-German friendship through art.
Concept and Theme
“La Vie en Rose” is a homage to the lightness of life. The theme invites artists to explore the multifaceted nature of the color pink and the rose as a symbol of beauty, transformation, and transience. Artists are encouraged to create works that reflect aspects such as:
- The Color Pink: As an expression of tenderness, vibrancy, romance, and emotion, explored through painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, or performances.
- The Rose as a Motif: Artistic interpretations of beauty, longing, transience, and devotion.
- The Light Life: Works capturing the joy of the moment, everyday pleasures, and the lightheartedness of life, inviting viewers to dream and enjoy.
Exhibition Sections
- Moments in Pink Artworks celebrating the color pink in all its shades, from soft pastels to vibrant magenta. These works creatively explore light, form, and texture to highlight the essence of pink.
- Worlds of Roses The rose as a timeless symbol is showcased in its full spectrum of meaning—through delicate sculptures, digital interpretations, or abstract renditions.
- The Light Life Installations and performances addressing themes of joy and playfulness, inviting visitors to engage with the works.
Target Audience and Atmosphere
The exhibition appeals to art enthusiasts in Germany and France who wish to enjoy a sensuous summer art journey.
- In Wiesloch, the exhibition will take place in the romantic garden of the Untere Mühle Baiertal, accompanied by music, a bonfire, and atmospheric lighting. A bar and seating will create a relaxed and immersive experience.
- In France (location pending), it will be presented in Fontenay-aux-Roses, a region inherently connected to the theme’s symbolism. We target the week-end around May, 24th. Most likely, it will be an outdoor exhibition as well.

We are seeking 10 artists to contribute works to the exhibition’s themes—five from Germany and five from France. Selection will be made by the event team, ensuring diversity in style, format, and interpretation.
