Concéntrico Open Calls
Concéntrico is an urban innovation laboratory that invites reflection on the city through contemporary practices: architecture and design as tools to strengthen the community and propose new collective uses of public space.
Concéntrico, in its aim to initiate new formats that respond to urban transformations, presents three calls Objects in the city, Third landscape and Picnic in the vineyard to participate in the festival in Logroño. The new edition will be held from 19 to 24 June 2025.
The three calls for proposals are open until 17 January 2025 at 23:59 hours (GMT+1).
The participation, which has a digital delivery format, is open internationally to all creators (individuals or collectives) who present intervention projects within any of the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, design and art:
Objects in the City, in collaboration with Romanian Design Week, seeks to reinterpret existing urban elements through temporary interventions that add new meanings and uses to public spaces in Logroño and Bucharest. Through a minimal design exercise, it seeks to generate a new scale in places such as squares and streets, promoting community interaction.
Third landscape, the proposal is based on Gilles Clément’s manifesto, which advocates the preservation of marginal and non-intervened spaces within the urban environment, with the aim of using a site as a space of opportunity and putting people’s lives at the centre of urban design, promoting an urbanism that integrates equity, safety and accessibility.
Picnic in the vineyard, in collaboration with Bodegas LAN, we are inspired by the tradition of the picnic and the after-dinner meal to rethink the spaces / tools associated with the act of eating, giving them a new meaning in the contemporary context. Eating, as a communal act, connects us with the local and the close, rediscovering the value of tradition in the natural environment.
Concéntrico will be responsible for the production and construction of the winning proposals in coordination with the teams selected in the competitions. These interventions will form part of the set of projects to be carried out in different locations in the city.
