Application for Artists in Residence 2025

Since 2021, the Fondazione Internazionale per la Scultura awards every year, five scholarships to artists who are active in the field of three-dimensional art.

The Fondazione Internazionale per la Scultura operates the Centro Internazionale di Scultura and its five artists’ ateliers in Peccia. Following a call for entries, international talents are selected by an independent jury. The jury is neutral as regards all applicants’ origin, politics, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.

The artists that are selected for the Residency will work on their projects for 6 months from the beginning of May until the end of October with the opportunity of opting for a 3-moths stay (May to July or August to October) to be decided together with the jury once the application is confirmed. They are given a working studio/ Atelier and can access three workshops covering stone-, wood- and metalworking as well as accommodation in a studio apartment in the “Casa degli Artisti” located in the heart of Peccia, a few steps away from the Centro. The workplace is also equipped with a 20-ton crane so that even large projects can be undertaken in the local Cristallina marble.

Visits and meetings with other artists, art historians, curators, and gallery owners during the residency will allow for the exchange of ideas and practices, the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, as well as an opportunity to expand one's network.

As a juried Artist in Residence, you will become an ambassador and contribute to achieving the Foundation's goals.

The application process

• The application process takes place electronically via our homepage. The jury reserves the right to reject applications without explicit reasons.

• The Foundation can award "wild cards" by direct invitation.

• Timetable for the communication of the jury's decision:

o Notification of the choice normally by the end of October for the next season.
