Artists Collective Workshop Bohuslän

In the middle of the intersection of sea and mountain lies the Artists' collective workshop Bohuslän, one of Sweden's 26 collective workshops and one of four with national interest. We are, as it seems, in the middle of nature – but in fact we are one of several hubs in a culturally dense environment. We are primarily there to provide professional artists with professionally equipped workshops for various techniques and materials, but also to be a place for stimulating, developing and exciting meetings in the signs of art and culture.

Residence for sculpture and material-based processes
In 2024, KKV Bohuslän will organize a residence for seven artists working on sculpture and material-based processes.
Through your own work in the workshops you will meet colleagues and exchange experiences and knowledge. We will start by being digitally viewed for a presentation and conversation about material-based processes. Then we meet in February to work on site. Your own work is done freely without any requirements for themes other than being material-based. During the residency period, we regularly see and discuss our processes, alternative exhibition methods and more. The residence is then reported in some way that we will jointly arrive at the beginning of March.

The residence includes:
– Scholarship of SEK 15,000 plus exhibition compensation SEK 2,800
– Accommodation. Own room with access to shared kitchen, laundry, shower and toilet. ( Pets are welcome in some rooms. Family is welcome to visit at their own expense. )
– Access to one of our ceramics, tufts, textiles, stone, metal and wood workshops. For more info on our workshops see our website.
– Travel expenses for up to SEK 2,500.
– Some material cost. ( Suppliers of stone and clay are in place, other materials we recommend that you buy or order in advance. )
– One year free membership in KKV-B.

You stand for yourself:
– Material.
– Food.
– Any shipping for works you worked with during the residence.

You who are looking for should:
– Be a professional artist and live in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland or Iceland.
– Somehow work with stone, ceramics, wood, textiles, tufts or metal.
– Join the meeting digitally in the fall of 2023 and be present at KKV-B February 1 – March 3, 2024.

You search by submitting a single PDF containing:

– The application will be sent to kristin@kkv-b.se no later than May 1st

We have five studios of varying sizes.

In addition to the ceramic workshop there is a studio ” Paint 5: an ” with ceramic equipment but which is excellent to use even as a regular studio. It is about 20 sqm, with running water and storage space.

The project studio came into place in 2018 thanks to our sponsor Cramo. The project room is about 50 sqm large, sparsely furnished with table and chair to keep the room as flexible as possible. It is possible to spend the night in the Project studio as there is an extra bed to set.

In the stone yard we have three studios for long term rentals. Two smaller and one larger. Contact the office for booking these.

Book studios through this link.
