LIGHT\TRACE No. 8

LIGHT\TRACE No. 8 is a sculptural dialogue between geometry, textile and light. Two circular light objects are formed by a finely translucent fabric into which fibre optics are carefully interwoven. Their delicate surfaces emit light subtly into the surrounding space, creating a presence that is at once light and almost weightless, yet distinctly sculptural. The soft, draped textile stands in striking contrast to the precise geometric form of the circular body. This tension between softness and structure is central to the work. Although the translucent fabric allows glimpses through the objects, their physical presence remains unmistakable, creating a delicate balance between transparency and volume. When illuminated additionally from the outside, a subtle moiré effect emerges across the draped surfaces. It shifts and changes as the viewer moves through the space, making perception itself part of the work. The surface seems to move between transparency, pattern and light, revealing ever-changing visual relationships depending on the angle of view. As a pair, the two sculptures form a quiet conversation. Their light sources are programmed to vary in intensity at different intervals, creating a dynamic relationship between the two bodies. One object responds to the other through changing luminosity, so that the installation is experienced not as two isolated works, but as an interconnected spatial composition. LIGHT\TRACE No. 8 explores light as both material and communication. Its restrained luminosity, shifting surface and subtle interplay between the two sculptures create an atmospheric experience that unfolds gradually, inviting the viewer to observe, move and discover.
