International Open Call "Plastic Fantastic"
Plastic Everywhere
Exhibition in Berlin, 23.10.–4.12.2026, Tue. and Fri., 5–8 p.m.
In a public open call, we invite international artists to submit proposals on the topic described below for a juried group exhibition in our exhibition spaces.
Nanoplastics in our brains, plastic in the Arctic. Our practical, durable helper is everywhere, and production volumes are rising. Plastic, as a product of the fossil industry, burdens nature as waste and through its breakdown products, and it affects our bodies as nano- and microplastics. Recycling does not work. We must reduce its quantity worldwide and switch to non-hazardous materials.
What does this mean for people, and what can we do? Who is actively fighting this problem?
The exhibition will be planned and realized with its works in a resource-efficient way. Artists are asked to state the percentage of reused material in their work. Sustainability is not only content for us as a team, but also practice.
We will accompany the exhibition with a dialogue-oriented program. Artists as well as external contributors are warmly invited to participate with their own ideas for lectures, workshops, readings, or other formats.
Disciplines: object, sculpture, installation, photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, video with credit information, sound is possible. Performative contributions (performance, DJ set, concert, etc.) for the opening, artist talk, or closing event are explicitly welcome.
Individual artists or existing artist groups may apply online with up to three works.
International works:Â physical works from the EU, letters and videos also from outside the EU.
We offer exhibition space with equipment, bar, promotion via email, website, social media, web and print flyers, organization of artwork texts, the accompanying program and guided tours, and documentation.
We do not charge any fee for application, exhibition, etc. As a free, self-organized project space, we work on a volunteer basis. For works sent to us, we ask that senders include return postage. Unfortunately, there is no budget for production, additional technical equipment, transport, or insurance — the space is technically secured. We expect good cooperation and agree on rules of cooperation, pdf.
Attendance by regional artists is desired for the opening and the artist talk, as well as for overseeing the exhibition.

A: An application by postal mail and email is not possible due to the jury’s working organization.
