Bridge to the Landscape

Bridge to the Landscape was featured in SSG’s 2025 solo exhibition Is The Fake Real at the 500 m² Yunling Art Centre in Chongqing in 2024.

A Bridge to the Landscape featured in SSG’s 2025 solo exhibition, Is The Fake Real, at the 500 m² Yunling Art Centre in Chongqing, China. It consists of screens scattered across the gallery floor, from which the gushing sound of river waters crashing on rocks plays incessantly, only momentarily interrupted when one of the screens briefly blackens as one of the ten videos begins its endless loop once more. The sounds of the turbulent water fill the space, immersing visitors in an intense auditory and visual landscape. At the centre, a steel bridge spans above the screens, uniting the moving images and creating a physical axis through the digital rivers.
Just as the bridge gathers the land into the landscape, so does A Bridge to the Landscape invent its own landscape of spatiotemporal invention. Connecting and transgressing the fake and real, as it reaches beyond the perception to the landscape that spans both community and place. A Bridge to the landscape crosses the incessant fake flows of the digital world, giving us access to a passage that would otherwise remain out of reach.
