Mobiles

'Mobile' is the first sculpture that can move in space. Designed with a kalligraphical Japanese brush and ink it is cut out from a 12 mm corten steel rolling plate, keeping close to every movement and detail of the brush. With steel lacquer it keeps the blue-black colour. A rotating machine attached to the ceiling makes it turn slowly. I always see my ink drawings as movements in space, as music and an abstraction of natural forms. The light reflects on the 12 mm thick steel and with every movement there're other connections within the sculpture.
