This installation serves as a portrait of the surrounding landscape, where wild plant species, taken from their natural environment by digging them out, are placed in an artificial system called hydroponics. In this system, the plants grow in circulating, nutritious water, expressing the outdoor natural environment in an unexpected context. In the version "Leidsche Rijn", 21 different wild plant species thrived in the hydrosculpture, embodying the local ecosystem.
The latest version of this work was displayed at the Valkhof Museum in Nijmegen, continuing its exploration of nature’s relationship with urban spaces.
