Big Water

Exhibition / installation
2021

The title of the exhibition is a poetic metaphor or an attempt to describe the size of something that cannot be measured in the usual units of size. How do you measure something intangible, flowing and thrusting? Is it not like trying to control with your hands a stream of water coming at high pressure from a burst water pipe? Or is it like trying to stand on your feet when you’re being battered by strong ocean waves? The narrative of the exhibition leads to a reflection on success as a paradox, when a positive result becomes toxic or is accompanied by certain suppressed motives. Close to the Surrealist tradition, “Big Water” creates an enigmatic, dream-like atmosphere that opens up both sensual and rational possibilities for interpreting the plot.
