Gabriele Kutschera

annaeherung

Gabriele Kutschera is a multidisciplinary artist renowned for her impressive iron sculptures. With craftsmanship and artistic vision, she transforms a material often perceived as rigid into vibrant, expressive works. Her sculptures are distinguished by powerful forms and dynamic lines that merge movement with emotional depth. Kutschera combines industrial materials with a sensitive aesthetic, creating artworks that challenge viewers both intellectually and visually.

A recurring theme in her work is the passage of time, reflected in her rhythmic creative process.
Born in Vienna in 1950, Kutschera began her artistic career in the 1980s with jewelry making, through which she refined her technical skills. A pivotal moment in her transition to large-scale sculptures came in 1987 during a symposium in Vorchdorf, where she gained her first experience in a forge—an experience she describes as life-changing. The artist lives and works in Vienna and Bad Wimsbach.
