Gen Z in the Arts
The exhibition "Against the Grain - Generation Z in Art"聽 and the book of the same name at Sacrow Castle on Friday, 16 August 2024 at 6 pm.
Generation Z comprises the birth cohorts from the mid-1990s to 2010. Around 140 works by 22 Gen Z artists provide surprising insights into the emotional worlds and lifestyles of the first globally networked generation of 'digital natives', who differ in their values from the older millennials and boomers. The exhibition also illustrates how this generation of artists transfers their digital experiences and ways of seeing into the analogue art practice of painting, graphic art, photography and sculpture.
Representatives of Ars Sacrow, the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation, the curators, editors and the exhibition organisation team will speak to you before the opening. A large number of the 22 international artists will be present. 聽
You will hear live music from Marie Schwab and a DJ and the Kurpfalz wine taverns will provide culinary delights and fine drinks.
For Berlin guests without a car, there will be a shuttle bus service with former BVG double-decker buses from the 1980s:
The outward journey is organised as follows:
Departure from Berlin-Spandau railway station (exit Seegefelder Stra脽e, next to the taxi rank, see page 2) to Sacrow Castle at 17:00, 17:15, 18:15 and 18:45.
The return journey: Departure from Sacrow Castle to Berlin-Spandau station (U-Bahn Rathaus Spandau) with an optional stop at the intersection of Gatower and Heerstra脽e.
Buses are available from 22:00 and run approximately every 30 minutes until 0:30.
